Everybody plays the fool,
though you lie to keep your cool,
denying the deceit that left you broken.
He played with you, you fabulous toy,
you were blinded by your love of that boy,
taking your heart and pride as his token.
You could not fight,
so you hid from his sight,
allowing silence to be your reply.
You’re now forever changed,
and completely deranged,
the lesson learned you’ll never deny.
Three hundred sixty-five days have passed, you know,
it’s high time you finally let go.
So smile, laugh, and dance through the pain,
the wisdom and knowledge of this experience wasn’t a loss, but a gain.
